If you’re after a way to add speckles to your high fired pottery, be it fired reduction ( gas) or oxidation (electric) trachyte is a great all rounder.

I fire between cone 9 and cone 11 and it comes up a treat. You will need to be using clay that vitrifies in this temperature span.

This listing is for samples of trachyte so you can have a play and see if it’s something you want to use going forward.

Choose between chunky varied sizes of trachyte or uniform fine grain. See my Instagram post from 21.2.24 if you want to check it out.

Can be purchased in 200g or 1kg bags.
